Alan's celebrated musical career has achieved international acclaim for his work in Classical, Rock, Contemporary Christian and Film genres.  His creative genius is multifaceted, having produced, performed, composed and arranged orchestral pieces for over 50 major release albums, while working with some of the world's most renowned artists and leading record labels.

Although he is recognized as one of Rock's leading guitarist, Alan is a classically trained graduate of the Royal Colleges of Music, London.

At London's renowned Wigmore Hall, one of the world’s great concert halls specializing in chamber and instrumental music, Alan made his classical music debut. As part of the group Cradle of Conceits, in which he performed with Baroque music virtuoso Jakob Lindberg and Monica Huggett, his mastery of the style was established.

As a critically acclaimed rock guitarist, Alan has performed live with some of the greatest artists the world has ever known.  To name only a few: Phil Collins (Brand X), Rodger Daltrey (with the late John Entwistle, Julian Lennon, Yoko Ono), Chris Farlowe (with the late John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, Carl Palmer of Emerson, Lake & Palmer), The Alarm, Babe Ruth and the UK's Juniors (with Mick Taylor of The Rolling Stones and the late John Glascock of Jethro Tull).

Esteemed as one of the industry's greatest, Alan has received three Grammy nominations and multi-platinum, gold and silver discs, as well as amassing worldwide chart success. He has produced projects and some of the record Industries leading recording studios including Abbey Road (UK), Oceanway (LA), Electric Lady (NY).

In mainstream music, Alan has produced such legendary artist as Rodger Daltrey of The Who, The Alarm, Meatloaf, Jeff Beck, Mike Oldfield, Bonnie Tyler and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.

In the contemporary Christian Arena, Alan has produced such luminaries as Phil Keaggy, Graham Kendrick, Paul Oakley, Margaret Becker and mixed the Newsboys.

Alan has also produced title tracks for the major motion-picture releases "Quicksilver" starring Kevin Bacon, "Doc Hollywood" starring Michael J. Fox and "Buddy's Song" starring Rodger Daltrey and Chesney Hawkes, for whom Alan produced the million unit seller, "I Am the One and Only", which the "Guinness Book of Records" immortalized Chesney as, the "UK's youngest and longest-standing artist at Number 1".

Alan is a co-founder and board executive of the British Record Producers Guild, now called the Music Producers Guild (MPG), along with chairman Sir George Martin (The Beatles) and colleague Alan Parsons. He is also a member of Grammy-U P&E wing.

Engaging the next generation, Alan is a professor and teaches courses in both Audio Technology and Music Business Programs at Belmont University as well as SAE Institute. Along with additional colleagues, Alan participates in the Student Abroad Program; a Faculty-Led Short Program where students experience a month in London as the natives and music industry professionals do.

Alan's credits include, EMI's Songwriter of the Year award for the Number 1 hit "True Believers", by the Christian music veteran Phil Keaggy, and was nominated as BMI's Songwriter of the Year for the progressive rock band, Babe Ruth of which Alan was the founder. The Mexican has since been embraced as the world's official "Breakdancers Anthem" and has been recorded and honored in full or part by the following artists: Grandmaster Flash, Sugar Ray, R. Kelly, Chemical Brothers, Prodigy and Thalia & Marc Anthony, which was a US Number 1 album for the EMI Latin label.

Alan conducted and wrote the original scores for "Puffins" and "One Man's Island" which were performed by the London Symphony and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, both BBC and PBS Wildlife documentaries for "The Natural World", which premiered at the Royal Festival Hall in London. He also composed and performed on the original score for the Soccer World Cup in 1994.
